Kayla Masterson, M.S., LPCC

Behavioral Health

Kayla Masterson, M.S., LPCC, is a licensed professional clinical counselor. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from California State University Sacramento in 2010, followed by her Master of Science in Clinical Health Counseling from Capella University with an additional certificate in play therapy. Kayla uses a client-centered approach, including cognitive behavior therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and solution-focused strategies. The California Board of Behavioral Sciences has licensed her as a professional clinical counselor at the associate level in 2020 and independently in 2023. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, watching sports, and spending time with her family.

Dr. Sami Peña, DC, CFSC

Chiropractor 

Dr. Peña is a movement-based chiropractor specializing in strength and conditioning and functional rehab. A Palmer West graduate, she has built her career working in several different clinical settings ranging from rehab-based private practices to multidisciplinary settings in the Veterans Health Administration hospital. Dr. Peña has completed several certifications and participated in multiple trainings, including a Certified Functional Strength & Conditioning Coach (CFSC), DNS A/DNS Strength and Conditioning, Motion Palpation Institute, infant adjusting, FAKTR, and Fascial Manipulation. She has also served as an executive representative on the Rehab2Performance board. 

Dr. Peña creates a collaborative environment with patients by co-managing their care with other healthcare providers. In her spare time, Dr. Peña leads an active lifestyle. She has a "practice what you preach" mentality, embodying the lifestyle she promotes to her patients. She enjoys daily weightlifting, Pilates, and any form of movement that recharges her. She also enjoys all things outdoors: hiking, camping, traveling, and being in nature.

Matthew Herring PT, DPT, OCS

Physical Therapist

Dr. Herring is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopedic Therapy. He earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Governors State University and his Bachelor of Science from Lewis University. Dr. Herring has spent his career as a physical therapist in the outpatient setting and has experience treating various orthopedic and musculoskeletal diagnoses. He strives to provide high-quality, patient-focused care, helping patients meet their unique individual goals and enjoy the best quality of life possible. 

Amalia Reeves

Acupuncturist

Amalia Reeves is a licensed Chinese Medicine Practitioner, Acupuncturist, and Herbalist with nearly two decades of experience in health and wellness. She enjoys empowering people to take control of their well-being through acupuncture, herbal medicine, and a holistic approach to care. 

After earning her Master of Science degree from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco, Amalia furthered her expertise with a post-graduate internship in Hangzhou, China. She has extensive experience treating a wide range of conditions, including neurological conditions, pain management, and mental-emotional concerns.

An avid animal lover, Amalia also provides Chinese Medicine care for animals, including animal massage. Passionate about supporting the animal care community, she teaches somatic care to veterinarians for their mental health. You can find her hiking and biking with her dogs and children when she's not working.

Peter Vasquez, MD

Executive VP, Medical Operations

Peter Vasquez, MD graduated from Ohio State University College of Medicine, and completed Residency Training in and Board Certification in the specialty of Family Medicine.  He went on to complete Post-Graduate training and attain Board Certification in the field of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.  Of his 37 years in clinical practice, Dr. Vasquez has engaged in private Family Practice, family medicine and public health for Native American Communities, Occupational Health, and consultation and advice for corporate human resource, safety, and occupational health professionals. 

Dr. Vasquez currently works for Premise Health, where he serves as special counsel to the Chief Medical Officer.  In this role, he leads the clinical aspect of the delivery of healthcare virtually, as well as consultant to a variety of Premise Health clients including service as the Executive Medical Director for the Health for Life Centers at Intel.  

Dr. Vasquez is a past Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Western Occupational and Environmental Medical Association.  He is a member of the Southern California Education and Research Council Continuing Medical Education Advisory Committee, and a member of the Corporate Roundtable of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine.

 

Patty McCall

Health Center Manager

Patty is a dedicated Registered Nurse with 12 years of experience in ambulatory care, focusing on women's health, public health, primary care, and occupational health. She is focused on clinical operations and is committed to delivering whole-person health care to her patients. Patty's approach to nursing is grounded in compassion and a genuine desire to support her patients' well-being.

Originally from Brazil, Patty is fluent in Portuguese and passionate about providing culturally competent care that respects and honors diverse backgrounds. Since moving to Folsom, Calif., in 2019, she has enjoyed immersing herself in the local community. Outside work, Patty is a mother of two and shares her home with a playful Boston terrier. She loves paddle boarding, traveling outdoors, and cherishing moments with her family and nature.
